Cataract
Cataracts is a natural change that occurs in adults age 55 and older. Contrary to popular belief, cataracts are not a film that develops over your eyes but rather cataracts are the clouding and thickening of the intraocular lens inside the eye. Development of cataracts causes both increase in glare at night time and blurry vision. Different stages of cataracts can be detected with your comprehensive vision exam and it is important to annually monitor these changes. This helps the doctor guide you as to when surgical intervention maybe needed. Cataract surgery removes the cloudy part of the lens and replaces it with an intraocular implant allowing your vision to be clear and vivid again.
